I've wondered about this sign. This picture was taken while visiting Harbor Springs, Michigan; a delightful resort style community. Michigan is sometimes referred to as the land of a thousand lakes. During the summer, large bodies of water are almost irresistible as the weather warms up.
Along the pier, there were many, many boats anchored to the docks; almost as far as the eyes could see. I had to wonder where their owners were. On such a gorgeous day, isn't it the right of any seaworthy craft to be on the water where boats belong? But, perhaps these lucky individuals were busy making the money to pay to anchor the boats along the pier. After all, the last I checked, money doesn't grow on trees does it?
But there is an irony to such things. Kinda like the no diving, no swimming sign perhaps... Such is life.

Lakes are full of water, boats run on water ... seems likely they belong together. Come to think of it ... diving and swimming are totally acceptable in water ... wonder why they won't allow it at this spot!
You know, I don't know. It may have had to do with life guarding issues perhaps...
Those pilings look like they were hand cut - pretty picture. The sign ... interesting. Private property?
Lola--We have a boat, but probably only go out on it once a week. Twice a week we go the the yacht club to eat dinner on the boat or at our picnic table on the dock. Time & money are two issue, but life has so many things to offer. (Mary's philosophy of the day)
Lola, that sign looks like an open invitation to be to go jumping of those pilings. Nothing like a challenge.
Lola - Great shot , it makes me wonder what is lurking just below the waterline though. like many things in life , there is more than meets the eyae in any situation.
