Will the World As We Know It Change Forever When Shift Happens...

You never know what you might unearth or where you might end up when you follow a link down a cyberspace bunny trail.  This find started with a drop in visit to Ed Rybczynski's blog & curiosity about the mention of a sight called slideshare.  If you've wondered what the future holds...slide on over & watch!

 

 

 It's hard to appreciate the enormity of the change that is happening in our world.  This slideshow was a stylized adaptation of a presention by Karl  Fisch which examined his perceptions for America in the 21st century global economy. I found this very thought provoking. What do you think?

HI Monica, Thanks for your comment.  It was amazing to be to know that soon China will be the #1 English Speaking Country in the world...  There was a lot that was eye opening in this slide show.

Lola - a lot of food for thought --   There have been a lot of shifts throughout history -- it is difficult to predict what the consequences of those shifts will be.  We certainly see that there are a lot of shifts going on in the real estate profession -- and it has a trickle down effect on a lot of segments of the economy!

Enlightening and alarming.  I learned that my college bound daughters first year will be outdated in two years and I'm wasting a boatload of cash.

Hi Elizabeth, I feel your pain!  I've got one heading for college as well.  My comfort is this...the college experience should prepare them to think & create solutions to life's challenges as well as get a job.  Colleges will have to reinvent how they provide an education if this transpires as the slide suggests.  That might be a good thing!  Thanks for your comment.

Melanie, You're right we will never be able to keep up with the formidable increases in information available through technology.  But take comfort in this, a computer will never be able to laugh & experience joy or weep with compassion at another's pain.  There are some things that will be forever reserved for humans!  Thank goodness.
